CITY OF ST. ANTHONY <br />COUNCIL MINUTES <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br />Aug. 2, 1976 <br />The meeting was called to order by Mayor Miedtke at 7:35 P.M. <br />Present for roll call: Miedtke, Haik, Stauffer, Sundland. <br />Absent: Sauer <br />Also present: Jerry Dulgar, City Manager <br />Jim Fornell, Adm. Asst. <br />Mayor Miedtke explained that the purpose of the meeting was to <br />have the third reading of the proposed zoning ordinance, make <br />any changes deemed necessary and if possible take a vote on the <br />adoption of the ordinance. He could.not guarantee any action <br />would be taken on Mr. Hedlund's request for a public hearing on <br />a proposed P.U.D. <br />Councilman Sauer arrived at 7:45 P.M. <br />The Council discussed several areas of concern in the zoning <br />ordinance: power transmission towers and their being subject <br />to height restrictions, voting for radio transmission tower permits, <br />traffic visibility regulations, maximum density and maximum structure <br />height in PUD's, the amount of commercial land use permissible in <br />a P.U.D. , the amount of performance bonds for P.U.D.'s, driveways <br />next to property lienes and the "Purpose" statement contained in <br />several sections. Changes were to be incorporated into the final, <br />adopted draft. <br />Motion by Councilman Sauer, seconded by Councilman Stauffer to adopt <br />Ordinance 1976-006,as modified. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1976-006 <br />AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO ZONING; AMENDING <br />SECTION 300 OF THE 1973 CODE OF ORDINANCES <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Gordon Hedlund,1255 Pike Lake Drive, New Brighton, presented <br />his proposal for a P.U.D. on Silver Lake Road between 39th Avenue <br />N.E. and Silver Lane. He wanted the City Council to schedule a <br />public hearing on the proposal as soon as possible. <br />Mayor Miedtke raised the question about the need for variances <br />if Mr. Hedlund's proposal were to be approved. He felt, however, <br />that the comprehensive planning required by the P.U.D. was a positive <br />element. <br />Councilman Sundland was concerned about what would happen to the <br />
