CITY OF ST. ANTHONY <br />COUNCIL PTINUTES <br />P?overber 23, 1976 <br />The meeting was caller' to order by P"ayor Miedtke at 7.35 P.M. <br />Present for roll call- Sauer, Pliedtke and Haik <br />Fbsent° Sundland and Stauffer <br />Also present- Jer_ry Dulaar, City Manager <br />Larry Vi.ckrey, City Attorney <br />I.C. Comstock, City Engineer (arrived at $ 20 P.M.) <br />Potion by Councilman Sauer and seconded by Councilman Haile to <br />approve the minutes of the November 1,6, 1976 Council �Ieetina. <br />I <br />Motion carried. unanimously. <br />George Varks discussed the minutes of the November 1.6, 1976 Planning <br />Board meeting. Fe told of the presentation made by Dick Frier, <br />Planning Director for the City of Richfield, of that City's plans <br />to redevelop the deteriorating Lyndale -- 66th and Nicollet (Hub) <br />commercial and residential neighborhood. The Poard found that <br />much of the nlan could be anplied to the City's efforts to upgrade <br />the St. Anthony Shopning Center, according to P"r. PIarks who is a <br />member of the task force formed to study such action. This aroun <br />is scheduled to meet after the first of the year.. <br />Councilman Sundland arrived at 7 40 P.M. <br />Councilman Etau£fer arrived at 7!42 P.P*. <br />No recommendations were made by the Poard regardina the r -ay Realty <br />proposal for a 26,200 square foot warehouse/offi.ce%showroom to he <br />erected in the St. Anthony Office Park since the recTuest for a <br />building permit was withdrawn by its maker. Jeff P?ielsen, who will <br />.attempt to rework the Plans to meet the Poard's objections. <br />The Planning Board representative then told of the proposal made <br />by Mr. Joseph Sroaa, Jr.. to improve the annearance of his Standard <br />Station at 3201 Stinson Boulevard. The Board will consider any <br />firm proposal which Por. croaa may make recrarding the portion of his <br />land which the station operator had indicated an interest in <br />donating to the City for a mini park, considering at that time what <br />access could be provided to the area among other points brought up <br />by the Council members. <br />rTr. Dulgar advised Mr.. P'a.rk>s that a planner and sign comnanv_ re- <br />presentative would attend their next meeting_ to discuss the possible <br />guidelines which might be incorporated into the City's sign ordin- <br />ance for free standing signs. <br />Steve Chaimson of the Northgate Motel was present to discuss licenses <br />for the restaurant and bottle club which are associated with the <br />Northgate Motel. <br />
