Motion by Councilman Sauer and seconded by Councilman Sundland to <br />grant a 3.2 (non -intoxicating) beer license for the Forthaate <br />Restaurant. <br />?lotion carried unanimously. <br />?lotion by Councilman Stauffer and seconded by Councilman Hail: to <br />approve a setup and 3.2 beer license for the Northaate Travelers <br />Club subject to approval by the PTinnesota Li.auor Commissioner. <br />Potion carried unanimously. <br />At the suggestion of Pyr. Vickrey the Vanager was reauested to notify <br />Mrs. Anderson who previously had held the licenses for the above <br />that now have been issued to P^r. Chaimson, she might want to cancel <br />hers. <br />A. representation from the Golden Heirs had returned to again discuss <br />their request for City support in their efforts to obtain more <br />economical methods of transportation for their field trips. Mr. <br />Dulgar said he was waiting_ for a formal response from Columbia. <br />Heights who had indicated they might be willing to either sell. the <br />City a surplus bus or rent one of their buses on a ner time basis <br />when such a bus was not in use. Insurance and maintenance costs of <br />ownina such a bus were then discussed as well as the possibility <br />that it might prove to he more economical for the City to directly <br />subsidize either the cost of renting a bus or a portion of the <br />cost thereof rather than to para the prohibitivelu high insurance <br />rates which would be charged for a City owned bus. Pavment of a <br />m m <br />minimuaount by each rider was also consit'ered in the discussion <br />of the Community Services and the Superintendent of Schools is to <br />be contacted regarding the feasibility of securing a bus which <br />could be used by the senior citizens as well as other community and <br />school groups. <br />P?otion by Councilman Sauer and seconded by Councilman Stauffer to <br />table action on securing transportation for. the Golden Heirs until <br />December 7th when more information regarding the number of trips <br />anticipated by the group is known, the feasibility of purchasing a <br />bus for Community Services use has been ex_ploree and Columbia <br />Heights has presented their offer. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />The meeting was recessed from. 8e15 to 8!30 P.P% <br />P"r.. Dulgar said, the owner of the amusement devices at Apache, Sam <br />Silva, had requested he be allowed to present further objections to <br />the ordinance regulating such elevices at the Council's next meetinc*. <br />However, since Deputy Chief of Police., Don Hickerson, was present <br />he was allowed to give the reasons the Police Department recommended <br />Passage of the ordinance. He said the department had received <br />numberous complaints from the merchants of Anache about the rowdv <br />behavior of some of the juveniles who use the electronic aames in <br />the mall area of Apache. The use of vulgar and abusive language by <br />the youths as well as intimidation of elderly customers and clerks <br />in the stores were cited in their complaints by the merchants who <br />said they had been unable to get any satisfactory action from the <br />(2) <br />
