ANTHONY <br />CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTES <br />OCTOBER 14, 2014 <br />Mayor Faust called the meeting to order at 7:00 p .m. <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE. <br />Mayor Faust invited the Council and audience to join him in the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />ROLL CALL. <br />Present: <br />Absent: <br />Also Present: <br />Mayor Faust; Councilmembers Jenson, Roth, and Stille. <br />Councilmember Gray. <br />City Manager Mark Casey, Fire Chief Mark Sitarz, and City Engineer Justin Messner <br />(WSB & Associates). <br />CONSIDERATION, DISCUSSION, AND POSSIBLE ACTION ON ALL OF THE FOLLOWING <br />ITEMS. <br />I. APPROVAL OF OCTOBER 14, 2014, CITY COUNCIL MEETING AGENDA. <br />Motion by Councilmember Jenson, seconded by Councilmember Stille , to approve the City <br />Council Meeting Agenda of October 14, 2014. <br />Motion carried 4-0. <br />II. PROCLAMATIONS AND RECOGNITIONS. <br />A. Recognition of St. Anthony Fire Department and St. Anthony New Brighton School <br />District by Lt. Colonel Eric DiNatale, 55th Civil Division. <br />Fire Chief Sitarz explained that Firefighter Seth Goettl is a member of the Minnesota National <br />Guard 55th Civil Division and Mr. Goettl requested that the City and the School District partner <br />with the Minnesota National Guard on a training exercise conducted in July. He stated the <br />exercise provided an opportunity for the Fire Department to watch the National Guard conduct <br />training from a hazardous materials perspective and the exercise was another example of the <br />City's willingness to collaborate with others. He then introduced Lt. Colonel Eric DiNatale and <br />Sgt. First Class Seth Goettl from the Minnesota National Guard 55th Civil Division. <br />Lt. Colonel DiNatale thanked the Fire Department for partnering with them and stated it was a <br />great training event that included use of the high school gymnasiums and outdoor bleachers, <br />which provided a realistic training environment for them. He presented a Certificate of <br />Appreciation to Fire Chief Sitarz and a Certificate of Appreciation to Ms. Wendy Webster <br />representing the School District and thanked everyo ne involved in the training exercise. <br />Sgt. First Class Goettl stated the training exercise was intended to prepare for the All Star Game <br />in July and included training for hazardous materials incidents, dealing with an active shooter or <br />1
