City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br />July 28, 2015 <br />Page 2 <br /> <br /> 1 <br />Councilmember Gray stated he looked at the work officers have done and it is apparent to him 2 <br />that this is more than just a job to them. He stated this has a great impact to their community and 3 <br />he wanted to thank them. 4 <br /> 5 <br />Councilmember Stille thought this year the Night to Unite event would be very interesting 6 <br />because of what has occurred throughout the Nation. He thought the support for the Police 7 <br />Department has not only occurred from St. Anthony residents but from Falcon Heights residents 8 <br />as well. He thought the community would be very receptive. 9 <br /> 10 <br />Mayor Faust stated it is amazing the demeanor of all three of the officers, the smiles, the 11 <br />approachability, and how they always have that openness, which reflects well on the community. 12 <br />He thought it was amazing how they taught children in the community and was moved and proud 13 <br />to be a member of St. Anthony. He thanked the police officers and indicated the Council’s 14 <br />appreciation. 15 <br /> 16 <br />III. CONSENT AGENDA. 17 <br /> 18 <br />A. Consider July 14, 2015, City Council meeting minutes; 19 <br />B. Consider licenses and permits; and 20 <br />C. Consider payment of claims. 21 <br /> 22 <br />Motion by Councilmember Gray, seconded by Councilmember Brever, to approve the Consent 23 <br />Agenda items. 24 <br /> 25 <br />Motion carried unanimously. 26 <br /> 27 <br />IV. PUBLIC HEARING - NONE. 28 <br /> 29 <br />V. REPORTS FROM COMMISSION AND STAFF - NONE. 30 <br /> 31 <br />VI. GENERAL BUSINESS OF COUNCIL. 32 <br /> 33 <br />A. Second Quarter Goals. Mark Casey, City Manager, presenting. 34 <br /> 35 <br />City Manager Casey presented the second quarter goals update. 36 <br /> 37 <br />Councilmember Gray stated it seems like they never have a lack of things for staff to do. He 38 <br />stated he was thankful for how Mr. Casey attacks these items, felt a lot of progress has been 39 <br />made, and that Mr. Casey is doing a great job 40 <br /> 41 <br />Councilmember Stille stated there are items that are not on the update that staff has been working 42 <br />on as well. He reviewed some of the items the City has been working on and thanked Mr. Casey 43 <br />and the staff for their excellent work. 44 <br /> 45 <br />Mayor Faust thanked City Manager Casey and all City staff for their ongoing efforts. He 46 <br />recapped some of the items staff worked on to improve the City and cut costs. 47 <br /> 48 <br />12
