Commissioner Gondorchin referenced Section 152.187 and noted the Planning Commission 1 <br />previously recommended the height must be equal to the ridge line and the proposed text 2 <br />amendment states it can be no higher than 12” from the roof. 3 <br /> 4 <br />City Planner Rothstein agreed that the text amendment should state that the height of the 5 <br />system cannot extend over the ridge line and must be at or below the ridge line. 6 <br /> 7 <br />Commissioner Papatola requested further information about the City Council’s rationale with 8 <br />respect to the three square foot standard for light pole mounted systems. 9 <br /> 10 <br />City Planner Rothstein explained that the City Council wanted to minimize the size because 11 <br />there are so many different types of light poles. She stated the Planning Commission could 12 <br />recommend that the text amendment be revised to say three square feet unless expanded as 13 <br />part of an applicant’s CUP request. 14 <br /> 15 <br />Chairperson Crone opened the public hearing at 8:15 p.m. No speakers were present. 16 <br />Chairperson Crone closed the public hearing at 8:15 p.m. 17 <br /> 18 <br />Motion by Commissioner Papatola, seconded by Commissioner Heinis, to recommend that the 19 <br />City Council approve the text amendment to Section 152.187 of the City Code to allow for 20 <br />solar energy systems on residential structures, as amended with respect to language regarding 21 <br />the ridge line and light pole mounted systems. 22 <br />Motion carried 5-0. 23 <br /> 24 <br />IV.
