Of immediate importance is that each participant community is required to hold a public hearing as art of the Year X Urban Hennepin County DBG program-development-, process. The hearing. is to provide the opportunity or c izen rev ew. an comment ,on at least the following three program elements: 1. Local housing ,and community development needs. :'. 2. Proposed use of the Year X C086 local 'pl a`nni ng all oc alt i onf. N • 3.' Urban Hennepin County Statement of Objectives/1983. A Accompanying is a public .hearing notice, formaIt to accomplish these purposes in accordance with the Housing and Community Development Act, as amended. The meeting notice must be published in the City's official newspaper at Teast ten days before the date of the hearing. Hearings are to be held between February 15 and April 1, 1984. Refer to the accompanying Urban Hennepin County: Year X (1984) Program Development Schedule, in the CDBG Program Update memo. Please inform your staff planning area representative of the anticipated public hearing-date_by- February -28, 1984. In addition to the public hearing notification,- Hennepin County is preparing a news release for distribution within each planning Brea providing information on the level of funds available, describin.g, the. range of activities that can be undertaken, and outlining the Urban-. Hennepin County objectives in accordance with the Housing and Community , Development Act, as amended. r S t F 7
