i <br /> STAFF MEETING NOTES <br /> • January 17 , 1984 <br /> The staff meeting began at 10 : 25 A.M. Those present were : <br /> David Childs , Donald Hickerson, Lee Entner, Larry Hamer, Connie <br /> Kroeplin and Carol Johnson. Ray Nelson was absent. <br /> The future needs of the Minneapolis Fire Department were <br />_ discussed at a meeting held by the Citizens League. Chief Entner <br /> attended and gave the opinion it was very informative. Chief <br /> Entner also briefly described the procedure for joint purchasing <br /> through the City of St. Paul and indicated other departments are <br /> welcome to utilize the organization for their purchases. He also <br /> noted Bob Lee received a back injury while shoveling fire hydrants <br /> in the City and will be off work for an indeterminate amount of time. <br /> In order to renew their state operators license for the <br /> sewer department., Herman Weber and Jim Lorbeski of the Public Works <br /> Department will be attending a school in the near future. They <br /> are required to do so every three years. Building Inspector Harry <br /> Lekson will be attending a seminar on building codes. <br /> Don Hickerson reported that the new police officers appear <br /> to be doing very well. Officer Scholl was responsible for the <br /> arrest of three burglary suspects and wrote an excellent report <br /> on the case. <br /> Dave Childs asked Larry Hamer and Carol Johnson to meet <br /> with him next week regarding water and sewer rates. <br /> Dave Childs reminded the staff that the Capital Improvement <br /> Program reports are due this week. <br /> Council agenda items are to include: <br /> Developmental Learning Center Sublease <br /> Lease with Phil LaMere <br /> Appintment of new Planning Commission member (Ron Hansen) <br /> Meeting adjourned at 11: 05. <br /> • <br />
