I <br /> All 1111 <br /> IIII IIII <br /> league of mi.nnesota cities <br /> December 24 , 1986 <br /> To: Mayors , Administrators, Clerks and Managers <br /> From: Don Slater, Executive Director <br /> Dear City Official: <br /> The League- of Minnesota Cities Board of Directors on November 19 , <br /> 1986 approved the creation of a short-term investment pool for <br /> municipalities to provide a viable investment alternative for cities. <br /> The plan is scheduled to begin operation on or before February 1 , <br /> 1987 . <br /> • Meetings to explain the investment program have been scheduled and <br /> the list of sites and the dates of these meetings in included with <br /> this notice. <br /> These meetings will include a presentation on the legalities of the <br /> investment pool , it' s purpose and advantages,, the procedure which <br /> will be used to purchase and sell investments through the pool, and <br /> other pertinent information. <br /> A question and answer session r.egarding the investment pool will be a <br /> part of the program at all locations. <br /> Please note a different starting time at several of the locations . <br /> • While the notice of these meetings has been targeted to reduce <br /> mailing costs, all elected officials and staff who are responsible <br /> for setting policy or administering investment of city funds are <br /> invited and encouraged to attend. <br /> We would appreciate having this- matter placed on the city's January ' <br /> meeting agenda for discussion.
