Benshoor andc.Jon M. Wertje
RE: Traffic Engineering Study for Twin City Federal
Bank - Apache
PURPOSE AND SUMMARY
The purpose of this memorandum is to document our traffic
engineering analysis for the Twin City Federal branch
located in St. Anthony. The analysis focuses on the
potential impacts of expanding the drive-up by two lanes
• plus a bypass lane and assessing the bank's parking needs.
The analysis process included conducting existing traffic
counts and assessing the impacts of the proposed drive-up
expansion. Conclusions from the analysis are:
Six percent of the existing bank traffic is orientated
to/from the east on 39th Avenue. Because of this small
percentage, the proposed drive-up expansion will have
no significant effect on 39th Avenue east of the bank.
The drive-up expansion will alleviate the on-site
traffic congestion which occurs at peak periods by
providing additional capacity for the drive-up
operation.
It is recommended that 11 additional parking spaces be
added to the bank site to allow customers parking along
39th Avenue to park on-site.
A parking area east of the building is recommended to
provide three spaces for drop-off/pick-up functions.
