P SEY <br /> 0 <br /> St. <br /> @ U COUNTY LEAGUE University Avenue East <br /> St. Paul, Minnesota 55101 <br /> OF LOCAL GOVERNMENTS (612) 227-5600 <br /> CAPITOL COUNTY <br /> OF MINNESOTA <br /> RESOLUTION REGARDING <br /> Arden Hills <br /> Falcon Heights PROPERTY TAX REFORM - H.F. 2033 / S.F. 1957 <br /> Gem Lake <br /> Lauderdale WHEREAS, current data suggests that although <br /> Little Canada 64 percent of the state revenue is collected in the <br /> metropolitan area, only 46 percent is received, and this <br /> Maplewood disparity is growing at about two percent per year; and, <br /> Mounds View <br /> WHEREAS, a further shift of resources would limit the <br /> New Brighton ability of the suburban cities to provide the <br /> North Oaks infrastructure and services already existing in urban and <br /> outstate cities; and, <br /> N.St.Paul <br /> Ramsey County WHEREAS, the higher housing costs in the metropolitan <br /> area increase the burden of local governments and school <br /> Roseville districts to deliver equal services, and would be <br /> St.Anthony compounded by higher property taxes paid by metropolitan <br /> properties;- <br /> St.Paul <br /> Shoreview NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the members of the <br /> Ramsey County League of Local Governments Executive Board <br /> Vadnais Heights and Legislative Committee that the members of the Minnesota <br /> White Bear Lake Legislature decrease the shift of resources in proposed tax <br /> reform legislation; and <br /> White Bear Township <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Legislature should <br /> seriously consider a state takeover of county welfare _ <br /> costs. <br /> Adopted by the Ramsey County League of Local <br /> Governments Executive Board and Legislative Committee this <br /> 24th day of March, 1988. <br /> si / Vi Presiden <br />
