There was <br /> 9 a brief discussion of cost overruns including those attributable to the <br /> 10 ten months construction time instead of the five months bid by the <br /> 11 contractor as well as the fees the architect had agreed to deduct from <br /> 12 their total bill. Mr. Childs pointed out that BWBR perceived they had <br /> 13 a net loss of $17,820. 00 on the job and recommended their March 7th <br /> 14 billing for $6 , 882. 34 be paid. <br /> 15 Council Action <br /> 16 Motion by Marks , seconded by Makowske to approve payment of $6 , 882. 34 <br /> 17 to BWBR Architects for professional services relative to the Stonehouse <br /> 18 liquor warehouse construction administration through February�-'241 1988. <br /> 19 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 20 Knights of Columbus Fundraiser for Mentally Handicapped to be Conducted <br /> �1 in City April 22nd and April 23rd <br /> 22 Ray Eklund, 3020 Wilson Street N.E. , was present to request Council <br /> 23 permission for the Fridley/Columbia Heights. BVM Council of the Knights <br /> 24 of Columbus to conduct its annual tootsie roll fundraiser for the <br /> 25 benefit of the mentally handicapped in front of St. Anthony businesses <br /> 26 on the above dates. Councilmember Ranallo, who serves as - the Grand <br /> 27 Knight for the BVM Council, reported the Knights had raised $15,000.00 <br /> 28 with the same fundraiser last year, all of which had been spent on <br /> 29 projects to aid the mentally handicapped in St. Anthony, New Brighton, <br /> 30 Columbia Heights, Fridley, Spring Lake Park, and other areas in Anoka <br /> 31 County. He also told about the Ralston Purina award the Knights' Boy <br /> 32 Scout troupe comprised of young handicapped adults had been given. <br /> 33 Mayor Sundland took the occasion to thank the Knights for the help they <br /> 34 had given to St. Anthony residents as well as the other donations and <br /> 35 help the organization had given to various City projects. <br /> 36 The Bulletin newswriter took pictures of the Councilmembers making <br /> 37 their donations. <br /> 38 Council Action <br /> 39 Motion by Marks, seconded by Makowske to grant permission to the <br /> 40 members of Fridley/Columbia Heights BVM Council of the Knights of <br /> • 3 <br />
