V ,3 <br /> 1 The City Manager indicated the last RCM quote for the temporary system <br /> 2 had been $25, 000 March 14th but he would ask Mr. Hamer to verify that O <br /> 3 number with them. <br /> 4 Mayor Sundland indicated he perceived the City would have to know what <br /> 5 a system would cost whether or not it was ever actually built. <br /> 6 Council Action <br /> 7 Motion by Marks, seconded by Enrooth to authorize Rieke-Carroll-Muller <br /> 8 Associates to prepare the final design and specifications for a <br /> 9 temporary filtration system at a cost not to exceed $25,000. <br /> 10 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 11 Resident Complaint About Contractor to Be Dealt With Later <br /> 12 During the time Mr. Childs was out of the room researching the figures <br /> 13 for the above, there was a brief discussion of the letter from the <br /> 14 homeowner at 2600-34th Avenue N.E. complaining about work local <br /> 15 contractor had not completed on his home. <br /> 16 Councilmember Ranallo indicated that as a neighbor, he had been <br /> 17 watching closely what was going on in .the Johnson project and had seen <br /> 18 for himself that the homeowner and not the contractor had done all the <br /> 19 landscaping including the retaining wall, which had been constructed so <br /> 20 slowly .that the rainfalls kept washing the timbers away. He also said O <br /> 21 the homeowner had seeded his own lawn which grew- up to weeds over the <br /> 22 summer. The Councilmember said he had been trying to get the Public <br /> 2.3 Works Department to do something about the property condition all along <br /> 24 because all the neighbors were complaining to him about it. <br /> 25 The perception was that there were two sides to the story and that <br /> 26 no action should be taken until after staff had reacted to the letter. <br /> 27 ADJOURNMENT <br /> 28 Motion by Ranallo, seconded by Enrooth to adjourn the meeting at 8 : 30 <br /> 29 P.M. <br /> 30 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 31 Respectfully submitted, <br /> 32 Helen Crowe, Secretary <br /> 33 <br /> 34 <br /> 35 Mayor <br /> 36 ATTEST: <br /> 37 City Clerk O <br /> 8 <br />
