STAFF MEETING NOTES <br /> • AUGUST 16, 1988 <br /> As the pontoon boat pulled away from the dock at the Salvation Army <br /> Camp on Silver Lake at 10.: 15 A.M. , the staff meeting began. <br /> Chief Navigator Dave Childs was at the helm, and Petty Officer Lee <br /> Entner (whose idea it was for the location of this staff meeting <br /> today) , were present. The rest of the crew present were Larry <br /> Hamer, Don Hickerson, Ray Nelson, Dick Buendorf, and Connie <br /> Kroeplin. <br /> Dick Buendorf <br /> Mr. Buendorf's _last work day for St. Anthony will be Wednesday, <br /> August 17th; whereupon the real work will commence for him - <br /> football practice for the Minnesota Gophers. Mr. Buendorf reported <br /> on the results of two of the major tasks assigned to him. <br /> 1 . The proposed design for a new entrance sign for the Village <br /> was presented. The sign. would be erected at the Trillium Park <br /> location; made of mostly brick, with royal blue lettering. With <br /> Council approval , construction on the sign would begin in about 2 <br /> weeks. <br /> 2. Plans for the new playground equipment were also discussed. <br /> • Lee Entner <br /> 1 . Chief Entner said department members were working on <br /> expansion plans into some of the empty spaces at the station. <br /> 2. He mentioned again how impressed he is with the enthusiasm <br /> of the new recruits. <br /> Ray Nelson <br /> 1. A new computer has been installed at SAV II (Apache) . It <br /> will initially be used to keep inventory, price and cost <br /> information the stores. Users have also gotten their initial <br /> training out of the way. <br /> Larry Hamer <br /> 1 . Sealcoating has been completed. <br /> 2. Dutch elm disease has been particularly bad this year, <br /> however, the disease usually goes dormant 'about the middle of <br /> August. <br /> 3 . St. Anthony's water after carbon filtration continues to test <br /> at zero contamination. <br />
