CHEM COUNCIL • St. Anthony/New Brighton Chemical Health Environmental Management Council 3303 Thirty-third Avenue Northeast • St. Anthony Village, Minnesota 55418 September 20, 1988 Committee Meeting Attendance: Jack Baker Dorothy Fleming Shelley Freeman John Pugleasa Guests: Officers Dave Brouillet and John Ohl Call to Order: The St. Anthony/New Brighton C.HE.M. Council met on September 20, 1988 at SAV Middle School. The meeting was called to order at 7:30 pm. by president, John Pugleasa. Minutes: The minutes of the August 16 meeting were approved. Treasurer's Report: In the absence of the Treasurer, Dorothy Fleming reported a balance of $423.25. Shelley Freeman and John will meet with the St. Anthony • School District Business Manager to discuss advantages of tax exempt status. They will contact Rosemary Hannan with this information. Now Business: New Brighton Officer Dave Brouillet and St. Anthony Officer John Ohl were invited to the meeting to discuss what to do about problems with enforcement of school rules and city ordinances; and how the school, police department and community can work together to solve these problems. The Committee decided to pursue these issues: 1) Expansion of current St. Anthony police force by at least one full-time officer. 2) Designate a school/police department liaison in St. Anthony. This person would deal with all school related police business. 3) Develop sub-committee to investigate othe things that seem to impede the enforcement of school rules or city ordinances i.e. court system, state legislation). Apache Security: John will contact Apache Plaza management to discuss putting up 'no loitering' signs in the parking lot. Next Meeting: The next CHRM Council meeting will be held Tuesday, October 18, 1988, 7:30 p.m. at SAV Middle School. Approved- Prepared by Dorothy Fleming, Secretary (781-0361)
