1 Senior Citizens Program $ 3 ,903 .00 <br /> 2 Single Family Housing Rehab- $10,000.00 <br /> 3 ilitation (low and moderate <br /> 4 income) <br /> 5 Ordinance Recodification $12,500.00 <br /> 6 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 7 COUNCIL REPORTS <br /> 8 Dave Childs' Resignation Accepted with Expression of Gratitude for Seven <br /> 9 and a Half Years of Service to St. Anthony <br /> 10 Mayor Sundland noted that the Council had received a letter of <br /> 11 resignation from the City Manager who would be leaving St. Anthony to <br /> 12 take the position of New Brighton City Manager at the end of April. <br /> 13 Council Action <br /> 14 Motion by Sundland, seconded by Ranallo to accept the resignation of <br /> 15 David Childs and to thank him for the seven and a half years of faithful <br /> 16 service to St. Anthony and to wish him well in his new career <br /> 17 advancement. <br /> 18 Motion carried unanimously. • <br /> 19 After expressing a sense of loss at losing Mr. Childs, and yet a hope <br /> 20 that a continuation of that friendship would extend to "good <br /> 21 relationship between St. Anthony and its neighbor, New Brighton" , the <br /> 22 Mayor made the following motion to fill the City, Manager vacancy: <br /> 23 Sue VanderHeyden to Serve as Acting City Manager Until Mr. Childs' <br /> 24 Successor Takes Over , <br /> 25 Motion by Sundland, seconded by Marks to appoint Sue VanderHeyden, the <br /> 26 current Assistant to the City Manager, as the Acting City Manager until <br /> 27 a replacement for Mr. Childs can be found. <br /> 28 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 29 The Mayor then reported that the City was advertising for a City Manager <br /> 30 and would be taking applications for that position up until June 1, <br /> 31 1989, after which the City Council would be making its decision <br /> 32 regarding a new Manager. <br /> . 33 Ranallo Wants Residents to Understand Opportunity for Career Advancement <br /> -34 Led to Mr. Childs' Leaving St. Anthony <br /> 35 The Councilmember said several residents asked him how the City could <br /> -- -36 let the City Manager leave knowing the high esteem with which he is <br /> 8 <br />
