. ain thon
ilia e
Administrative Offices
3301 Silver Lake Road, St. Anthony, Minnesota 55418-1699
(612) 789-8881
November 16, 1989
Mr. Michael Miller
St. Anthony Health Center
3700 Foss Road
St. Anthony, MN 55421
Dear Mr. Miller:
This is in regard to the Health Center's charges for water used
for sprinkling, which you and I have discussed in the past. As
you are aware, multi-dwelling housing is charged quarter by
quarter for water and sewer usage. The manner of charging is
regulated by City Ordinance.
The St. Anthony Health Center is a multi-dwelling facility and is
therefore charged for utilities as are all multi-dwelling
facilities in the Village. It would be unfair to do otherwise.
We have run a history of the Center's water usage from 1986 and
find that there has been an increase of usage from 1987 to the
present. If you feel the Health Center has been over charged on
its utility bills, the Water Department can only issue a
reimbursement with direction from the -City Manager and City
Council.
In -addition, you have indicated that the facility's plumbing is
in the wails and cannot be adapted to the sprinkling system.
However, if you either install a meter underground or obtain a
meter capable of being hooked to the supply lines outside, you
would be able to meter the water. Please contact me if you wish
to discuss this matter further.
Sincerely,
Larry Hamer
Public Works Director
LH:cjk
Robert (Bob) Sundland, Mayor _ Thomas D. Burt, City_Manager
Councilrnembers: Richard A. Enrooth, Judy Makowske, George Marks, Clarence RanaOo
