MEMORANDUM <br /> DATE: November 22, 1989 <br /> TO: Tom Burt, City Manager <br /> FROM: Larry Hamer, Public Works Director <br /> ITEM: WEEKLY REPORT <br /> 1. The signs have been placed at the alley between Coolidge and <br /> Silver Lake Road. The police should monitor it to determine <br /> its effectiveness. <br /> 2. Letters have been sent to Roseville and New Brighton asking <br /> for their cooperation in the designation of Silver Lane and <br /> Old Highway 8 to Minnesota State Aid roads. Resolutions <br /> regarding this will be submitted to the Council in January or <br /> February. <br /> 3 . Construction on the second set of townhomes will begin at <br /> Evergreen Townhomes on Monday November 20th. The total number <br /> permitted is 7 units, 2 buildings. <br /> 4. *I received a letter from the Regional Mutual Aid Association <br /> (RMAA) concerning insurance coverage on mutual aid because <br /> most of the cities are covered by the League of Minnesota <br /> Cities Insurance Trust. Changes in the joint powers <br /> agreement, constitution, and by-laws are forthcoming. <br /> 5. I met with a bidder for janitorial services for Parkview on <br /> November 18th. He demonstrated his work on the vestibule. <br /> He quoted the City at $1.00 a foot as the annual fee. The <br /> common area is about 12,000 square feet ($1, 200 a month) . The <br /> City is paying $24,000 to $26,000 a year at this time. <br /> 6. A letter was sent to Silver Lake residents informing them of <br /> state law 475.877 which requires a permit be taken out from <br /> Rice Creek Watershed if the residents use lake water for <br /> irrigation, sprinkling, etc. <br /> 7. Letter was sent to Lang-Nelson regarding their obtaining a <br /> utility easement for the Walker on Kenzie building and <br /> disconnecting the shopping center's old service lines from the <br /> City lines. <br /> S. Violation letter was sent to 2929 Crestview regarding parking <br /> on the front yard and branches on the right-of-way. <br />
