City of Saint Anthony Housing Maintenance Ordinance • <br /> Draft Number 5 -- September 2, 1992 <br /> Page Number 2 <br /> 1 persons or families living in separate units shall conform to the requirements of this <br /> 2 ordinance, irrespective of when such building may have been constructed, altered, or <br /> 3 repaired. This ordinance establishes minimum standards for erected dwelling units, <br /> 4 accessory structures, and related premises. If a minimum standard in this ordinance is in <br /> 5 question, the Minnesota Uniform Building Code, Minnesota State Electrical Code, <br /> 6 Metropolitan Wastewater Control Commission shall be referred to and be applicable in the <br /> 7 case that a standard in this ordinance is not as stringent/current as the referred to code. <br /> 8 <br /> 9 SECTION 1. <br /> 10 <br /> 11 DEFINITIONS. The following definitions shall apply in the interpretation and enforcement <br /> 12 of this ordinance: <br /> 13 <br /> 14 1. Accessory structure - a structure subordinate to the main or principal dwelling <br /> 15 or dwellings and which is not used nor authorized to be used for living or <br /> 16 sleeping by human occupants and which is located on the premises. <br /> 17 <br /> 18 2. Buildin - any structure erected for the support, shelter, or enclosure of • <br /> 19 persons, animals, chattels, or movable property of any kind. <br /> 20 <br /> 21 3. Compliance Official - the City Manager and designated agents authorized to <br /> 22 administer and enforce this ordinance. <br /> 23 <br /> 24 4. Composting-yard waste materials that can be decomposed to create fertilizer <br /> 25 and eliminate the need for disposal. <br /> 26 <br /> 27 5. Dwelling - a building, or portion thereof, designed or used predominantly for <br /> 28 residential occupancy of a continued nature, including 1-family dwellings, 2- <br /> 29 family dwellings, and multiple family dwellings; but not including hotels and <br /> 30 motels. <br /> 31 <br /> 32 6. Dwelling unit - a single residential accommodation which is arranged, <br /> 33 designed, used or, if vacant, intended for use exclusively as a domicile for one <br /> 34 family. Where a private garage is structurally attached, it shall be considered <br /> 35 as part of the building in which the dwelling unit is located. <br /> 36 <br /> 37 7. Family or Household - any of the following definitions shall apply: <br /> 38 <br /> 39 - A person or persons related by blood, marriage, or adoption, together with <br /> 40 their domestic servants and/or gratuitous guests, maintaining a common <br /> 41 household in a dwelling unit; <br /> 42 <br />
