Recipient of a $20,000 Department of Energy appropriated technology grant <br /> (#DE -FG0279R510133) to do research and testing of a prototype cellular <br /> fuel boiler. Final report was finished on time and is dated June 30, <br /> 1981. <br /> 2. Guest faculty for the Extension Division of the University of Minnesota <br /> since January, 1979 for the following classes: . <br /> a. Ourboros South Project: Alternative Housing. (AICO252) <br /> b. Residential Energy Design: New Construction for Home Owners. <br /> (#ICO254) <br /> The subjects covered included Passive and Residential HVAC System Design, <br /> Interfacing with Alternate Technologies, Insulation and Vapor Barriers, <br /> Active Solar Design, Solar Domestic Water Systems, Etc. <br /> 3. One of a faculty of seven who presented intensive two day seminars (for <br /> design professionals) on Earth Sheltered Housing Design. The seminars <br /> were sponsered by the World of Concrete and held at: Chicago, Atlanta, San <br /> Francisco, Boston and Denver. <br /> 4. Guest faculty at a one day seminar held at the Eau Claire Campus of the <br /> University of Wisconsin. The subject presented was HVAC System Design in <br /> Energy Efficient and/or Earth Sheltered Housing Design. <br /> 5. Member of Technical Review Committee and chairperson for Super Insulation, <br /> Air Quality, and Infiltration Session of ASME conference titled 'Energy <br /> Conservation in Building Design and Construction", held in Minneapolis, <br /> Minnesota, September 15-16, 1982. <br /> 6. Member of ASCE Energy Committee, Minnesota' Section, specialist in <br /> Residential Energy and Alternate Energy Technology. Responsible with Dr. <br /> Ray Sterling for policy position paper regarding residential energy <br /> standards for new construction. <br /> 7. Frequent guest of Larry Mueller's live noon radio call-in talk show <br /> (station WHA, Madison, Wisconsin) . Topics discussed include Energy, Wood <br /> Combustion, and Air Pollution. <br /> 8. One of several guest lecturers in the University of Wisconsin Professional <br /> Development Program titled "Housing and Building Inspection. " <br />
