I have been a member of the Minnesota Renewable Energy Society for several <br /> years, serving as President for the past 2 years and presently serving as <br /> Vice President. I have kept abreast of renewable technologies, including: <br /> photovoltaics, solar domestic water heating, passive solar design, wind <br /> generation of power, ventilation and conservation stratagies. <br /> 4. I continue to stay abreast of biomass combustion and energy storage <br /> technologies as a result of my ongoing patent work in these areas. It is <br /> important to note that the existing wood fueled storage boilers at' Wolf <br /> Ridge were manufactured manufactured by GARN, Inc. under the specifics <br /> of my patents. In addition, I oversaw the final installation and startup ' <br /> of the boilers at Wolf Ridge. <br /> 5. Mount Carmel Hermitage, Houston Minnesota - 11 small buildings heated via <br /> wood fueled storage boiler through 3000' district heating system. Heating <br /> system utilized radiant floor, hot water baseboard and ventilation with <br /> air to air heat exchangers. 5 of 11 buildings utilized fully structural <br /> stressed skin panels. Unique, simple controls that have functioned very <br /> well. <br /> 6. Wilder St. Croix Camps dormitory and offices of juvenile detention <br /> facilities. Facility heated with GARN wood fueled storage boiler through <br /> district heating system. 10 zone radiant floor with hydronic heated make <br /> up air. This facility functioned so well mechanically that Wilder built <br /> an identical facility insisting upon the same mechanical system. <br /> 7. Concordia Language Villages - French dining hall, office and general <br /> activity facility. Facility heated with GARN wood fueled storage boiler <br /> via district heating system. Propane boiler back up. Multiple zone, 3 <br /> story radiant and hydronic convector system with hydronic make up air <br /> units. Extensive controls and piping. <br /> 8. Carmel of the Blessed Virgin Mary - 3 story monastary. Total mechanical <br /> design including waste, vent, H & C piping, heating and ventilation with <br /> air to air heat exchanger. 9 zone radiant floor heating with natural gas <br /> condensing hot water boiler set up for future expansion to include a <br /> district heating syustem to 7 small hermitages. <br /> 9. Wilder Forest at Marine on the St. Croix - office, conference and dual <br /> apartments. Multi zone radiant floor system. Office connected to existing <br /> GARN wood fueled storage boiler. Apartments utilize high efficiency water <br /> heaters for space and domestic water heating per section 4715.2190 of the <br /> Minnesota code. <br /> 10. Big Red Complex, Ucross, Wyoming - historic cattle ranch that was <br /> converted to educational/art complex in the late 70's was experiencing <br /> severe mechanical problems and high energy use. I was responsible for <br /> diagnosing all mechanical problems, overseeing the corrective design and <br /> inspections. Facility converted to wood fuel district heating system at <br /> owners request. Owner very satified with corrections. <br />
