Michael Mornson, City Manager <br /> ITEM: POLICE, PUBLIC WORKS; AND FIRE DEPARTMENTS' <br /> UNION AGREEMENTS <br /> The following represents the changes to the Union Agreements for_the bargaining units <br /> representing the Police, Public Works and Fire Departments. <br /> All Units <br /> • Term: 2 years <br /> Wages: 3% increase for 2000; 3% increase for 2001 <br /> Health Insurance: $25.00 increase for 2000; $25.00 increase for 2001 <br /> Personal Leave: Follows guidelines of proposed ordinance amendment to the Personnel <br /> Police for non-union employees; replaces vacation, sick leave and <br /> severance sections of the current union agreements (shift hours for the <br /> Fire Department were converted). <br /> Specific Changes by Agreement <br /> Police: Article XII - Hours of Work, Work Schedules. Added: A normal work <br /> day for full time EMPLOYEES may be up to 12 hours. The normal work <br /> week for full ltime EMPLOYEES shall be an average 40 hours. <br /> EMPLOYEES, when ordered to work overtime, shall work no longer <br /> than a 16 hour shift. This schedule will be in effect until December 31, <br /> 2000. The Chief of Police has authority to establish different shifts for <br /> 2001. <br /> Article XIII - Overtime. Amended: Officers called in for court <br /> • appearance while off duty will receive a minimum of 3 hours pay at time <br /> and one-half. <br />
