22 <br /> • ll. Summary of Findings to Date:A brief chronology of previous redevelopment <br /> efforts will be presented along with the results of Phase 1 analyses. <br /> Ill. Reaffirmation and Prioritization of Issues and Objectives: The participants <br /> Will go through an exercise to come to a broad based agreement on the <br /> importance and priority of the pertinent issues in light of the findings of Phase L <br /> IV. Visual Preference Survey: A presentation of the preliminary concept plans <br /> including different physical site arrangements, designs, appearances and types <br /> of neighborhood links will be presented to the participants. Along with the visual <br /> elements the most important tradeoffs required by each option will be presented. <br /> V. Design Session: The participants will be separated into smaller groups to focus <br /> on solutions for specific redevelopment elements. Participants will have an <br /> opportunity to be directly involved in the design of their community by actively <br /> participating in this hands on session and to share their thoughts and knowledge <br /> of the area with the design team. <br /> The end result of this session will be further refined concept plans produced by <br /> the individual groups. <br /> Vl. Summary presentation: Small groups present their concepts. <br /> Task 202 product: Broad based community agreement on the priority of issues and <br /> objectives, community involvement in the planning and design process, and concept <br /> plans responsive to the community objectives: <br /> I <br /> Phase III: Evaluation o f Alternatives <br /> Phase III will be used to select a preferred option from the concept plans for <br /> redevelopment formulated and refined during Phase II. Specific tasks in Phase III will <br /> include: <br /> Task 301: Steering Committee workshop to evaluate concept plans and <br /> recommend a preferred option <br /> The steering committee will be brought together in a workshop setting to review the <br /> concept redevelopment plans and make a recommendation to the City Council of the <br /> preferred option. This process will involve making recommendations regarding the o <br /> redevelopment of Apache Plaza (renovation� rpartial renovation with new construction, <br /> entire site redevelopment, use mixes, etc.), redevelopment options for the Fresh Air <br /> Camp (full park use, partial park with additional development, etc.), environmental <br /> mitigation strategies to reclaim the lake, and potential changes to regulatory controls to <br /> promote the desired pattern of development. <br /> Task 301 product: Recommendation,to City Council by Steering Committee of a <br /> preferred concept redevelopment plan. <br /> Task 302:Presentation to City Council of preferred concept redevelopment plan. <br /> A presentation will be made to City Council of the concept redevelopment plans and the <br /> • Steering Committee's recommended preferred option. <br /> 5 of 9 <br />
