NARRATIVE <br /> I want to introduce you to Mary L. Rockwood. Yes that is me. I am <br /> physically chall_nj . I have a left leg shorter than my right <br /> leg and therefore have a lift added to my shoe. I have three new <br /> joint replacements and will have one more. I walk with canes and <br /> I use a electric mobility cart some of the time. My husband and I <br /> co-founded this series and I will be at eve and so <br /> will anvone that wishes to come . All facilities are ADA <br /> certified,volunteers are available to assist persons, space is <br /> reserved for these very special persons, group home have buses <br /> for transportation, tickets are very reasonable, donaI tickets <br /> are made available for the very needy, presenters are from all <br /> cultures and the board welcomes all persons to become members . <br /> IV. Artistic Challenge <br /> The St .Anthony Village Concerts will give the artists and the <br /> audience appreciation of GOOD MUSIC AT A GOOD PRICE from far and <br /> near, relieve stress, provide COMMUNITY <br /> SUPPORT,EMPOWERMENT,QUALITY FAMILY TIME,POSITIVE IDENTITY and <br /> give JOY, EXCITEMENT, and WONDER of all things that are possiblo. <br /> V. Access <br /> All concerts are presented in certified ADA facilities and are <br /> wheelchair accessible. Transportation is available and volunteers <br /> are present to help physically challenged persons to get to the <br /> especially reserved areas for these special people . <br /> VI .Mission and History <br /> Community concerts started in the 19201s . Instead of struggling to <br /> make up deficits after the fact, the money is raised first and <br /> then the artists are hired. The plan works . People are willing to <br /> spend a modest sum in advance for a season of four concerts . <br /> Raising funds to secure a season is the magic ingredient . People <br /> are invited to attend the concerts by people they know. People <br /> from their neighborhood, church or their children' s school . The <br /> concerts will be of the highest quality, a vital mix of major <br /> stars and performers still on their way to prominence. <br /> n.C. I _ .O.N (Adults and Children together in our neighborhood) is <br /> an organization working to make our community a better place. In <br /> the spring of 1999 they sponsored an Intergen-rational Dialcgu°. <br /> A group of over 80 people met for a day to discover what our <br /> community needed to provide to make a positive impact on the <br /> relationship of all people of al_l ages. At the end of the session <br /> a list Ovals compiled of the su_ggejtion.J made. Music was on the <br /> list . The idea of Community Concerts came forth and with the <br />
