MINNESOTA 86018 <br /> • <br /> a <br /> St. Anthony Chemical Abuse Information Committee <br /> Tuesday, March 8, 1983 <br /> Members present: Don Nickerson, Evelyn Holthus, Jean Klosterman, Tom <br /> Lindskog, Barb Malrick, Joseph Malrick, Karen Thoresen-Quinn, Jan Stroom, <br /> guest Dave Bordwell. <br /> Minutes received, no corrections or additions. <br /> Treasurer's report was received and accepted. <br /> Old Business: <br /> The brochures have been received for distribution to St. Anthony health <br /> services offices (doctors, dentists, etc. ). They include pamphlets on AA, <br /> Alateen, Alanon and Families Anonymous, a booklet on marijuana information <br /> and a pamphlet called "Somebody Close to Me Drinks Too Much". They will be <br /> stamped, packaged and delivered by the committee. <br /> Don Hickerson reported on the budget request. He had <br /> given it to city <br /> • manager and thought it had been O.K'd. Follow-up disclosed the budget has <br /> not been accepted, Don will attend next meeting to get approval. <br /> A motion was passed to proceed with offering the program "A Balancing <br /> Act" to the St. Anthony high school and middle school students. Evelyn will <br /> arrange for the play as soon as possible if funding is available. <br /> Tom Lindskog met with WCCO TV personnel about the TV program/brochure <br /> suggestion. WCCO is working with Bruce Bonier of Minnesota Prevention Center <br /> on a program being developed for fall called "The Chemical People".- It will <br /> be a series incorporated with a town meeting concept. They were interested <br /> in the idea of coordinating the program with distribution of literature and <br /> took the Phoenix Arizona sample we offered. <br /> Evelyn described the brochure for the liquor store on responsible use. <br /> Will complete draft as soon as possible and proceed with printing. <br /> New Business: <br /> The editorial in the Bulletin written by Evelyn Holthus re: John Sanford's <br /> death was circulated. Posters describing the effects of. BAC(blood alcohol <br /> content) have 'been placed in the school entry. WCCO-TV has interviewed the <br /> Sanfords(Dave Nimmer) and has had a follow-up on the news. St. Anthony's <br /> Parent Networking meeting was shown. <br /> • <br />
