Engstrom, Investigator <br /> SUBJECT: Case Status for February, 1983 <br /> In February, 1983, I screened thirty-six ( 36) new cases for the <br /> month. Of those cases seventeen (17) met the criteria for an <br /> active investigation. <br /> I carried an additional fourteen (14) cases from previous months. <br /> Two (2) other cases were closed out due to lack of sufficient <br /> evidence to prosecute. One (1) other case from previous months <br /> was charged by the County Attorney. <br /> Those seventeen (17) cases investigated for February are as <br /> follows: <br /> 1 - Aggravated D.W. I . 1 - Suspect Clear/City Atty <br /> 1 - Gross Misdemeanor DWI 1 - Suspect Clear/City Atty <br /> 2 - Felony Theft By Check 1 - Suspect Pending <br /> 2 - Death Investigations 1 - Natural Cause <br /> 1 - Undetermined <br /> 2 - Assault - 4th Degree 2 - Suspects Refer to City Atty <br /> 2 - Narcotic Violations 3 - Suspects 3 - Charged <br /> 1 - Burglary - Business 1 - Suspect Charged <br /> I - Att. Burglary - Business 1 - Suspect Charged <br /> 1 - U. U. M. V. 1 - Suspect Clear - No charge <br /> 1 - Burglary - Residence Open <br /> 1 - Flee Police in MV 1 - Suspect Charged <br /> 1 - Obstruct Legal Process <br /> With Force 1 - Suspect Charged <br /> 1 - Worthless Checks 1 - Suspect Refer to City Atty <br /> Again, February was a moderately light month, but heavy productive <br /> in clearance and arrest rate. (47% clearance rate) . <br /> There were seven (7) house burglaries and two (2) business burg- <br /> laries. The latter were cleared by arrest and subsequent charges. <br /> Total loss from burglary and theft related crimes $ 48,988. 00 <br /> *- This does not include one resident burglary (Out of town) . <br /> Total loss from damage to property (Vandalism) $ 275. 00 <br /> Total property recovered (Stolen, Contraband, Narcotics) <br /> $ 8 , 170. 00 <br />
