-2- <br /> Carol Johnson informed us Steve Koes is in North Memorial hospital <br /> at this time and he has spoken with several of the staff . <br /> Lee Entner told those present the City will be involved in a tornado <br /> exercise on Wednesday, March 23rd, commencing at 1 :00 P .M. with the <br /> all clear at 2 : 10 P.M. He indicated the new siren on 35th Avenue N.E. <br /> and Silver Lake Road is again not functioning and is presently <br /> being worked on. <br /> Mr. Entner will also be preparing a change in the fire protection <br /> ordinance in the near future . <br /> Chiefs Entner and Hickerson then discussed the costs related to the <br /> Communications system and indicated there will be large increases <br /> in this area in the future. Minneapolis , Hennepin and Ramsey <br /> Counties will be contacted for cost comparison. Another possibility <br /> was suggested - area suburbs to band together and devise a central <br /> dispatch. <br /> Don Hickerson outlined the plans for the physical fitness orientation <br /> sessions . The first will be on March 23rd at 3 : 30 P.M. and the second <br /> on March 31st at 7:00 P.M. (awaiting confirmation) . Both sessions <br /> will be in the Council Chambers . Police and fire members must <br /> participate in this program and it is also being offered to Department , <br /> Heads. The orientation sessions will explain the program. Attendees <br /> will be given the results of the blood work and physical forms, which <br /> must be filled out by each individual ' s physician. A deadline for <br /> receipt of these forms will be announced at the orientation sessions . <br /> Chief Hickerson also requested the Police Department office and hall- <br /> way be painted and additional shelves installed. He will be present <br /> at the Council ' s March 22nd meeting with an application for another <br /> Reserve and to present the Chemical Abuse Information ' s request for <br /> funds from the City ( $1 , 400) . <br /> Dave Childs briefly listed Council agenda items , including: <br /> (1) application for license renewal for Chick ' s Billiards ; <br /> (2') Council ' s decision on branch chipping program; <br /> ( 3) H.R.A. meeting with redeveloper ; <br /> (4) two public hearings on C.D.B .G. funds allocation; <br /> (5) cable T.V. ordinance amendment; and <br /> (,6) a resolution establishing a fund for the H.R.A. <br /> The meeting adjourned at 11 : 15 A.M. <br /> cjk • <br />
