The following text is a preliminary analysis of the survey. The questions in the survey cover four <br /> general categories: (1) Economic Developme.nt/Redevelopment; (2) City Image; (3) Housing; and (4) <br /> City Government and Services. The discussion is organized into these four general areas. <br /> Image <br /> • 76 percent agree that their own neighborhood is a very good place to live (#5). <br /> • 56 percent disagree that crime is a serious problem in their own neighborhood (#6). <br /> • 54 percent agree that major entrances to the city should be made more attractive (#8). <br /> • 88 percent agree that the appearance of most new commercial developments in the city <br /> are acceptable (#9). <br /> • 69 percent agree there is a strong sense of community in Columbia Heights #10). <br /> • 74 percent agree the quality of life in Columbia Heights is very good (#11). <br /> • 58 percent disagree that people who do not live <br /> in Columbia Heights think highly of it <br /> as a place to live (#13). <br /> • 74 percent agree Columbia Heights is a very good place to raise children (#17). <br /> • 69 percent disagree that the quality of life in Columbia heights has improved in the last <br /> ten years (#19). <br /> • 58 percent support more landscaping along major streets (#23). <br /> r� 2s B-2 <br />
