A comparison of.1980 and 1990 <br /> Census data on households in Columbia Heights is shown in Table 3. Whale the numbers of families <br /> decreased by four percent, the numbers of households increased by six percent. According to the U.S. <br /> Census Bureau, this change is due to the increased growth in non-traditional households: single-parent <br /> and single-individual households. <br /> This trend, the growth of non-traditional households over traditional households, has affected Columbia <br /> Heights.
