ST. LOUIS PARK CERTIFICATE OF COMPLIANCE <br /> HOUSING INSPECTION CHECKLIST <br /> ITEM EXPLANATION <br /> EXTERIOR: <br /> 1. Exterior Paint and Exterior Siding (House and Garage): For purposes of <br /> the St. Louis Park Certificate of -Compliance Inspection Program only, NO <br /> exterior painting and siding repairs will be required for the sale of <br /> residential property in the City of St. Louis Park. Painting and siding <br /> repair are considered maintenance items and shall be enforced under the <br /> Housing Maintenance Code, if the situation should arise. <br /> NOTE: Property owners, regardless if the property is owner occupied or <br /> rented, are expected to maintain the homes with proper painting and/or <br /> maintain siding in proper repair. <br /> House Numbers: Address numbers must be visible from the street. <br /> Minimum 3 inch numbers are required, curb and step numbers are not <br /> acceptable substitutes. Detached garages are also required to display <br /> house numbers visible from alley. <br /> 2. Foundation: No major cracks, settlement or shifting. Foundation cracks <br /> exceeding 1/4 inch in width must be sealed using silicone .caulk or <br /> appropriate sealing material . <br /> Drainage: Provide adequate drainage away from foundation if visible <br /> basement moisture problem exists. If house is equipped with gutters <br /> they must be in operable condition. <br /> 3. Fascia/Soffit: Deteriorated and missing material must be replaced or <br /> adequately repaired. <br /> Roof: Cannot be leaking - if so, it must be repaired or replaced to <br /> code under permit. Roof areas which are observed to be damaged or <br /> deteriorated, or if shingles are worn or missing must be repaired, but <br /> complete replacement is not necessary if there is no evidence of <br /> leaking. <br /> NOTE: It is not the intent of the housing inspection, program to' <br /> guarantee future roof performance. This inspection is merely an <br /> evaluation of the roof's current condition. <br />
