Parks Commission Meeting Minutes <br /> June 4, 2001 <br /> Page 2 <br /> 1 Commissioner Zurbey asked in the prices take the knowledge of the contaminated soil into <br /> 2 consideration. Mr, Kost responded that the figures did reflect the current information on the <br /> 3 contaminated soil. Mr. Kost added that they have focused on the middle range of things in the <br /> 4 Estimate, in order to provide a cushion for upgrades, and/or additions. <br /> 5 Commissioner Zurbey expressed his concern over the possibility of bids coming in higher than <br /> 6 the Engineer's Cost Estimate. Mr. Kost indicated that, once a bidder is awarded the bid for the <br /> 7 Central Park Redevelopment Project, they could sit down with them and negotiate different <br /> 8 pieces of the Project. <br /> 9 Chair Jindra asked about the possibility of bids coming in lower. Mr. Kost explained that, if that <br /> 10 were to happen, they would choose some of the upgrades. Mr. Kost went on to explain that the <br /> 11 problems that would arise would involve any of the items that have not been included in the <br /> 12 Engineer's Cost Estimate. <br /> 13 Chair Jindra welcomed Molly Olivier with SEH to review the revised plans for the Central Park <br /> 14 Pavilion with the Commission. <br /> 15 Molly Olivier stated that she went through.and eliminated several items in three different <br /> .16 Schemes: A, B, and C. She stated that SEH went through and grouped large items together and <br /> 17 stated that the estimates are as low as they can go. <br /> 18 Scheme A: change exterior to wood stud with siding, delete concrete benches, delete operable <br /> 19 wall, delete fireplace, delete one bar-b-que pit, delete plumbing to kitchenette, change masonry <br /> 20 columns to steel, with build-out, reduce size of windows, change stainless steel fixtures to <br /> 21 porcelain, change standing seam roofing to asphalt shingles, remove one bay in the picnic <br /> 22 pavilion, remove one bay in the warming house. Construction cost: $354,191. <br /> 23 Scheme B: change exterior to wood stud with siding, delete concrete benches, delete fireplace, <br /> 24 delete one bar-b-que pit, change masonry columns to steel, with build-out, change stainless steel <br /> 25 fixtures to porcelain, change standing seam roofing to asphalt shingles, remove one bay in the. <br /> 26 picnic pavilion. Construction.cost: $366,185. <br /> 27 Scheme C: change exterior to wood stud with siding, delete concrete benches, delete operable <br /> 28 wall, delete one bar-b-que pit, delete plumbing to kitchenette,change masonry columns to steel, <br /> 29 with build-out, change standing seam roofing to asphalt shingles, remove one bay in the warming <br /> 30 house. Construction cost: $366,185. <br /> 31 Commissioner Zurbey stated it looked as though there was more restroom than useable space in <br /> 32 the plans for all three Schemes. Ms. Olivier stated that they could look to pull out some of the <br /> 33 square footage in the restrooms, but added that she was accommodating earlier requests.
