I
■ '
4.2 Residential Redevelopment Concept ■
The goal of this redevelopment concept is to provide St. Anthony Village with a dynamic ■
new residential neighborhood that will be thoughtfully designed and built to complement
the community while at the same time establishing its own sense of identity. The devel- ■
opment will offer a comfortable, inviting feel that will not only be attractive and offer hous-
ing and services for residents, but will be an asset and an attraction for all residents of St. ■
Anthony.
■
The concept has a total of 850 housing units of many different types, including 12 single
family homes, 68 townhomes, a 100 unit senior high rise, 340 units of 3 story multiple ■
family dwellings, and 330 units of 4 story multiple family dwellings. The concept also .
includes 75,000 square feet of commercial redevelopment.
The emphasis of the concept is on providing a range of different housing types that will ■
reflect the future needs of the existing population as well as providing housing choices for ■
new residents. Housing specifically targeted to the needs of seniors has been singled out
as a particularly strong need for the community-, therefore, several different types of houses ■
suitable for this group will be offered in the development. Houses will be offered at differ-
ent price ranges and there will be a mix of owner-occupied and rental units. ■
A new tree-lined boulevard crossing through the site and connecting the two ends of 39, ■
Ave will provide a strong primary entry point into the site. A new road network within the ■
site will facilitate access to residences and businesses. These are both key principles
that we feel must be included in any redevelopment scenario. Together, these two com- ■
ponents of the road network will allow for access to and through the site without nega-
tively impacting the surrounding neighborhoods. ■
■
Esisliug Dc.clopnmiu
1 ■Nest single I;Imih villas
Nc%%lo,,nlwnw ■
Neu undii-I;unil—cndcuua ■
/.I- _s't•. - Ncascuwr ap;inuwms ■
1 U rl ,1d
Nese unscJ-use unnmcraal
Residential ■
- -- Redevelopment
Concept
Northwest Quadrant Redevelopment Plan St. Anthony Village Page 4.2
■
■
■
■
