STAFF REPORT <br /> To: Planning Commission Report No.: X.1. <br /> From: Kim Moore-Sykes,Assistant City Manager vv-zl_ <br /> Date: December 21, 2004 <br /> Subject: Proposal from Charlene Roise,Hess Roise <br /> Requested Action: <br /> Staff is asking the Planning Commission to review the proposal submitted to the City for its consideration by <br /> Charlene Roise,Hess Roise to determine the historical significance of the Administration Building at Sunset <br /> Memorial Park. <br /> Background: <br /> Staff and Council have received comments of concern from some residents that the proposed demolition and <br /> rebuilding of the Administration Building at the entrance of Sunset. We received the name of an architectural <br /> preservationist in the area and contacted her. She was asked to submit an estimate of the cost to provide the <br /> City with a determination of the historical significance of the current building. Staff was informed that the <br /> mausoleum and bell tower on the site have been inventoried by the City of Minneapolis as having historical <br /> significance,but because the Administration Building is located in the City of St.Anthony,it was not included in <br /> this evaluation that the City of Minneapolis had done. <br /> Attachments: <br /> • Proposal from Charlene Roise,Hess Roise <br />
