Today, the campus is a reflection of the <br /> continuity and change that is so characteristic of such institutions. The historically and <br /> architecturally significant buildings at the school date from the late nineteenth century to <br /> the 1960s. Client: Carleton College. <br /> STATEWIDE HISTORIC BRIDGE INVENTORIES <br /> Hess Roise has participated in statewide assessments of highway bridges in Iowa, <br /> Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. Client: State Historical <br /> Society of North Dakota(SHPO). <br /> LIGHT-RAIL CENTRAL CORRIDOR STUDY, NIINNEAPOLIS-SAINT PAUL <br /> Survey of proposed light-rail corridor between the downtowns of Saint Paul and <br /> Minneapolis to identify properties potentially eligible for the National Register. Clients: <br /> BRW, Inc., Minnesota Department of Transportation. <br /> TRUNK HIGHWAY 29, WISCONSIN <br /> Evaluation of a corridor for a new alignment of a state highway between Chippewa Falls <br /> and Interstate 94..Extending for about twenty miles, the corridor was primarily situated in <br /> a rural area. Clients: Archaeological Research Services, Wisconsin Department of <br /> Transportation. <br /> WINONA ARCHITECTURAL SURVEY, WINONA,MINNESOTA <br /> Reconnaissance-level survey of an early Mississippi River town that contains some of the <br /> most striking nineteenth-century architecture in Minnesota. The study area included <br /> approximately 4,000 buildings. Client: City of Winona. <br /> COAL MINING,NORTH DAKOTA <br /> Historical contextual study of the coal mining industry in North Dakota, including the <br /> creation of a computerized database for 650 mine sites; preparation of statewide <br /> preservation guidelines.
