M I N U T E S <br /> St. Anthony Chemical Abuse Information Committee <br /> • January 11, 1982 - 7:00 P.M. <br /> High School Library- <br /> MEMBERS PRESENT: Evelyn Holthus, Ruth Hultgren, Mary Bowling, Pat Beaubien, <br /> Karen Quinn, Don Hickerson, Jean Klosterman and Jan Strom. <br /> 1. The meeting was convened by Ruth Hultgren at 7:05 P.M. in the high .school <br /> library. <br /> 2. Members of the committee were introduced. <br /> 3. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. <br /> 4. Karen gave the treasurer's report. which included a disbursement of $20.00 <br /> to Evelyn for postage and advised that the current balance on hand is $355.79. <br /> Karen also submitted documents from the St. Anthony Bank for required. signa- <br /> tures of committee members. <br /> 5. Tentative goals were discussed: <br /> 5.1 (Goals #1 & #5) Karen advised the committee of driver films available <br /> at no charge for groups of 20-30 people which are available through <br /> the Highway Patrol entitled "How Much Is Too Much" and "Why Me". <br /> • Don Hickerson also informed the committee of a number of films that <br /> are available through their department or other sources for our <br /> consideration. <br /> Don reminded the committee that the City of St. Anthony publishes <br /> a quarterly newsletter which could be utilized to communicate <br /> chemical abuse information to the community. <br /> Karen will prepare an .informational sheet of films available for <br /> use in the community. <br /> 5.2 (Goal #2) Evelyn reported that she had been in contact with both <br /> principals who had- indicated interest in possible programs for the <br /> students in the high school and middle school. . <br /> Evelyn reported that she hac. received a verbal cost figure from <br /> Jerry Berg at St. Mary's of $350.00 for two sessions. <br /> Carl Eller was another possibility as a speaker. However, she <br /> was unable to give any estimate of cost. <br /> Various programs were discussed and it was decided that we would <br /> look more closely into available programs before a decision is made <br /> as to what type of. program we would like to make available to the <br /> high school and middle school students. <br /> • <br />
