January 11, 1982 - Minutes_ <br /> Page 2 <br /> • <br /> 5.3 (Goal #3) After a short discussion, it was decided to consider <br /> additional Emergency Cards as have been distributed by the <br /> committee in the past. Mary will update these cards and will <br /> also submit a breakdown of the various agencies available. . <br /> Karen made a motion to utilize the Emergency .Cards which was <br /> seconded by Pat. Motion carried and was accepted. <br /> 5.4 (Goal #4) It was determined by Mary that there are 30 physicians <br /> and dentists in St- Anthony and it was discussed and agreed by <br /> the committee that we anticipate a cost of approximately $500.00 <br /> to supply free phamplets for distribution within these professional <br /> offices. <br /> 5.5 The committee determined the following cost estimates for their <br /> various goals: <br /> Goals #1 & #5 $ 20..00 Postage <br /> Goal #2 = $400.00 Speakers <br /> Goal #3 = $ 80.00 Emergency Cards <br /> Goal #4 = $500.00 Phamplets <br /> $1,000.00 TOTAL <br /> Pat moved that we request $1,000.00 from ;the City of St. Anthony <br /> • to fund our committee and their goals, seconded by Karen. This <br /> motion carried and the committee will present the above for consi- <br /> deration to the City Council at their next meeting on January. 26th. <br /> 6. A general discussion followed relative school policy regarding alcohol at <br /> sports banquets and we find that St. Anthony does not have a policy on <br /> this matter. Therefore, the committee would like to bring this to the <br /> attention of the School Board inasmuch as this policy affects players <br /> and cheerleaders within our schools significantly. <br /> 7. Evelyn consented to continue handling publicity articles for the committee. <br /> It was also considered that the use of photographs along with these articles <br /> would make the community aware of the committee and its' goals. <br /> 8. Several articles were submitted from recent publications concerning alcohol <br /> and other chemicals for review by the committee. Jan made a motion that we <br /> contact Ed Phillips & Sons Co. relative an advertisement in the Minneapolis <br /> Tribune on Sunday, December -20th entitled "The right to drink is also the <br /> right not to drink." The motion was seconded by Pat and accepted by the <br /> committee. Jean will contact Ed Phillips & Sons regarding this type of <br /> advertising. <br /> The next meeting of the St. Anthony Chemical Abuse Information Committee will <br /> be Tuesday, February 9th at 7:00 P.M. in the high school library. <br /> Res ectfully .submitted, <br /> 9 -y- <br /> /an L.
