ANTHONY - NEW BRIGHTON <br /> - 3309 99no AVENUE NORTHEAST, MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA 55418 <br /> Goals - Ste Anthony Chemical Abuse Information Committee - 1982 <br /> Goal I: Provide educational opportunities to the public concerning <br /> drinking and driving. <br /> Ob Lective: Increased awareness of problem of drinking and driving to decrease <br /> the incidence and supply incentive for possible legislative action <br /> to increase penalties for driving while intoxicated. <br /> Activity: Publicize movie available to organizations, write. articles for the <br /> Bulletin, make. pamphlets available at police station and SACUIC <br /> rack :across from community services. <br /> Goal II: Increase awareness of the problmes of chemical use by adolescents <br /> with adolescents in St. Anthony Middle and St. Anthony High Schools. <br /> Objective: Provide prevention education to hopefully decrease use of chemicals <br /> by adolescents. <br /> Activity: Provide a program to be shown in assembly to both St. Anthony Middle <br /> School and St. Anthony High School patterned after the St. Anthony <br /> • Middle School PTSA program in October, 1981. <br /> Goal III: Increase awareness of the community to the sources available for free <br /> chemical assessment/evaluation. <br /> Objective: To publicize the cost of free sources of help to increase use of <br /> such services. <br /> Activity: Publicity -in the Bulletin (possible editorials), use of St. Anthony <br /> newsletter. Also print cards availabe for public distribution with <br /> services and phone numbers. <br /> Goal:-.IV: Provide awareness of chemical dependency as a disease to persons who <br /> have already identified a health need. <br /> Objective: Provide a service to health professionals by supplying waiting rooms <br /> with reading material on alcoholism. <br /> Activity: Contact appropriate professionals in St. Anthony and provide their <br /> office with suitable patient reading material on alcoholism/chemical <br /> dependency. <br /> • OVere..e...o.00.e <br />
