To date , minor -interest has been <br /> Sshown by residents (even those who have been burglarized) but <br /> efforts will continue. The Apache Mobile Station has agreed <br /> to participate in a premises security check. Press coverage <br /> in that process (.since they are the first) was also thought <br /> to be desirable. <br /> e. Chief Hickerson also reported on burglaries for 1982 . Although <br /> burglaries are down, many are concentrated in a small neighbor- <br /> hood and seem to be attributable to two or three specific <br /> groups , all of whom are known, but have to be pinned to the <br /> crime site. <br /> f. The bike patrol program and bike safety programs will be <br /> starting soon and the group also discussed a recent training <br /> session for Public Works employees - as part of the Crime Watch <br /> program. <br /> 2. The Council discussed a request from Sentinel Management Company <br /> regarding the acceptability of constructing single family housing <br /> on Silver Lane north of the Equinox Apartments . They state in <br /> their memo that the maintenance of the berms north of the apart- <br /> ments is a tremendous burden and would like Council reaction to the <br /> proposal. The Council asked the City Manager to contact the <br /> company to get some specifics regarding their proposal and then <br /> to contact some of the current residents on Silver Lane to get <br /> • their reaction to such a proposal. <br /> 3. The Council approved a motion by Councilman Ranallo and seconded <br /> by Councilman Letourneau to allow a beer permit to Shirley Nordahl <br /> for beer in Central Park on Mother' s Day , May 9th.
