s" -2- Motion by Councilman Marks and seconded by Councilman Enrooth to approve payments of all verified claims listed for July 31 , 1983 and September -8 , 1983 in -the September 23, 1983 Council agenda. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Councilman Ranallo and seconded by Councilman Letourneau to approve payment of $1,507. 05 to Edward J. Hance for prosecutions during August, 1983. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Councilman Marks and seconded by Councilman Ranallo to approve payment of $14, 877 to Hennepin County for assessing services for the City under contract due September, 1983. Motion carried unanimously. Motion carried unanimously . Peter Cartwright was present to request the St. Anthony Kiwanis Club be .authorized to conduct their annual fundraiser in the City. Council and staff members made advance donations before the following : • Motion by Mayor Sundland and seconded by Councilman Marks to permit the St. Anthony Kiwanis Club to conduct their annual Peanut Day fund- raiser in St. Anthony September 23, 1983 . Notion carried unanimously. Judy Makowske , Planning Commission Chair , had arrived .just as Dick Krier was conducting his report to the M . R.A. , just prior to the Council meeting, and reported the death of Commissioner Sam Sivanich ' s father, following which she left the meeting . Mr. Childs was requested to send a letter of condolence to the Commissioner from the Council_ Councilman Ranallo reported several neighbors of Ross Craig , 301.2 Silver Lake Road, had contacted him wondering if they should appear before the Council to request City action regarding the unkept appear- ance of that property. The Councilman said he had promised to report the neighbors ' concerns to staff to see what the City can do to improve this long--standing situation. Mr. Childs and the Mayor both reported personal contacts with the homeowner and the latter indicated he believed Mr: Craig had left the state. The Manager reported the Public Works Department had been mowing the grass -on that property but were hesitant. to ,cut the -hedges -about which the neighbors - are -com- plaining. . Mr. 'Chi-lds: said he had advised one neighbor to cut any branches hanging over her property. . The 'Manager also agreed to see to it that the grass - on the property -on Skycroft, about which Councilman • Enrooth reported, is cut by the City crews , -if -the property owner has not already done so.
