ANTHONY CHEMICAL ABUSE INFORMATION COMMITTEE P <br /> August 7, 1984 <br /> Present: Barbara Malrick, Jean Klosterman, Karen Thoresen-Quinn, Don Hickerson, <br /> • Evelyn Holthus, Jan Stroom,. and Shelley Freeman. <br /> The Secretary's report was read and approved. <br /> Barbara Malrick, Treasurer, reported expenditures of $38.44 for labels, leaving <br /> a balance of $1,539.84. A statement of $400 due for pamphlets is expected soon. <br /> s <br /> Evelyn Holthus reported that the donations for the Sports, Kids and Drugs Program <br /> (SKD) are as follows: <br /> St., Anthony Kiwanis $ 400 <br /> St. Anthony Lions Club $ 250 <br /> St. Anthony High School P.T.S.A.' $ 25 <br /> St. Anthony National Bank $ 50 <br /> Midwest .Federal Savings $ 50 <br /> `F <br /> Evelyn Holthus reported that George Marks has agreed to be the narrator at the <br /> SKD Program if his schedule permits. Alternates to be contacted should George <br /> not be available are Lowell Hamberg or Denny Nelson of Anoka. <br /> It was decided that four committee members and teachers will handle registration <br /> for the SKD Program. The four are: Shelley Freeman, Barbara Malrick, Crystal <br /> Merriwether and Jean Klosterman. <br /> SKD Program information (letter, note, script, computer printout and pamphlet) p: <br /> will be mailed to twenty-two prospective "callers" who will be expected to make :s <br /> contact with the families of all students who must attend the program. Follow-up t <br /> • phone calls will be made to the prospective callers explaining the program, ;* <br /> stimulating interest, and verifying their participation as callers. : <br /> It was decided by the Committee that refreshments for the program will include <br /> the following to be purchased by the Committee: : <br /> 400 cups McDonald's orange drink <br /> 300 cups coffee <br /> Cups for serving above <br /> 60 dozen donuts " <br /> Jan Stroom will contact Mrs. Merwin and Helen Olson to see if they will handle <br /> refreshments for the program. Barbara Malrick will see if she can obtain a <br /> discount on the donuts. <br /> Shelley Freeman and Evelyn Holthus have been allotted one hour at the meeting of <br /> coaches and staff to explain the program and rules concerning chemical use. <br /> The Committee decided that the City Council and School Board be contacted to <br /> appoint new members.
