1 Motion by Marks, seconded by Enrooth to approve payment .of $3, 348.00 to <br /> VCalgon Carbon Corporation for services during December, 1988 on the <br /> City's temporary carbon filtration system. <br /> 4 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 5 MWCC Charges to Be $72,000 Less in 1989 <br /> 6 Mr. Childs explained that the above represented a one time credit owed <br /> 7 from two years ago which would be deducted on a monthly basis from the <br /> 8 City's billings in 1989. <br /> 9 Motion by Marks, seconded by Enrooth to approve payment of $19,627.86 <br /> 10 to the Metropolitan Waste Control Commission for January sewer services. <br /> 11 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 12 Motion by Enrooth, seconded by Marks to approve payment of $3,441.85 <br /> 13 to the Dorsey & Whitney law firm for legal services during November, <br /> 14 1988. <br /> 15 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 16 REPORTS <br /> 17 COUNCIL REPORTS <br /> 08 Hennepin County to Do Engineering Study on "Dangerous" 37th/Stinson <br /> 9 Intersection <br /> 20 Mayor Sundland reported getting a call from- one of his neighbors <br /> 21 reporting that one of his family members had experienced a near fatal <br /> 22 collision with a pick up truck at the above corner which the Mayor said <br /> 23 he had later discussed with Hennepin County Commissioner Sivanich. The <br /> 24 Commissioner had promised the above study would be done on that corner <br /> 25 which has had a long history of traffic problems. Depending on the <br /> 26 outcome of the study, Hennepin County might then approach Ramsey and <br /> 27 Anoka Counties regarding a cooperative installation of a semaphore for <br /> 28 which some St. Anthony state aid money would probably have to be used. <br /> 29 Councilmember Ranallo recalled that the City had previously refused to <br /> 30 pay its share of the signal which Columbia Heights proposed to install <br /> 31 at that location, which killed the project at that time. There was <br /> 32 general concurrence that the Mayor would contact Anoka County <br /> 33 Commissioner Kordiak and that Councilmember Makowske should talk to <br /> 34 Ramsey County Commissioner Salverda about the project at the next RCLLG <br /> 35 meeting. <br /> 36 Attorney General Humphrey s Help With TCAAP Settlement Sought By <br /> 37 Councilmember Makowske <br /> 38 The Councilmember indicated she had run into Skip Humphrey at Rosedale <br /> 39 a few days before Christmas and had gotten his promise to bring whatever <br /> • 3 <br />
