• <br /> MEMORANDUM <br /> DATE: February 22 , 1989 <br /> TO: David Childs, City Manager <br /> FROM: Larry Hamer, Public Works Director <br /> ITEM: FIRE STATION PLUMBING BID <br /> The bid for plumbing at the fire station was based on a <br /> non-handicapped facility because it would be used <br /> almost solely by the firefighters. <br /> • After the bid was awarded, a call was made to the State <br /> and the person 'responding to the call advised that even <br /> though it was a very gray area, the City probably <br /> should install handicapped facilities. <br /> Unfortunately, I had not planned on changing the toilet <br /> and the rough-in plumbing was already done. Due to the <br /> recommendation of the State, the decision was made to <br /> add hardware for handicapped persons to that restroom. <br /> LH:cjk <br /> • <br />
