STAFF MEETING NOTES <br /> • FEBRUARY 21, 1989 <br /> The meeting began at -10:10 A.M. Present were Sue VanderHeyden, <br /> Larry Hamer, Dave Childs, Connie Kroeplin, Don Hickerson and Lee <br /> Entner. Ray Nelson was absent. <br /> Sue VanderHeyden <br /> 1 . Ms. VanderHeyden is feeling much better but has been told by <br /> her physician to take it very easy for the next couple of <br /> weeks. <br /> 2. The City's Affirmative Action Plan has been certified. A <br /> training- session regarding the plan will be held at the- end - <br /> of March for the Department Heads. <br /> Laxxy Hamer <br /> 1. Construction on the Salvation Army Camp's new buildings has <br /> begun. <br /> 2. . The buildings in the St. Anthony Shopping Center are being <br /> razed. <br /> • 3 . There are three firms preparing cost studies for. repairing <br /> the MSA concrete roads of 33rd and 37th Avenues N.E. , <br /> Stinson Boulevard, and Chandler Drive. <br /> 4. Bids have been advertised in the Bulletin and the <br /> Construction Bulletin, and were also mailed to suppliers <br /> for: 1) aerial device; 2) mower with cab; 3) sewer rodder; <br /> and 4) repair of Well #5. <br /> 5. Mr. Hamer intends to begin working on the 1990 budget and <br /> requested the other Department Heads to submit to him any <br /> requests they will have for his department as soon as <br /> possible. <br /> Lee Entner <br /> 1. Chief Entner indicated he is still being treated for the <br /> severe headaches he has been getting but that none of the <br /> tests so far has shown what could be causing them. <br /> 2. The testing schedule for the firefighter position opening <br /> has been set. <br /> 3 . Bob Lee, whose upcoming retirement date has created the <br /> opening, has put in a workman's comp claim for reinjury of <br /> • his back. Mr. Lee's doctor has indicated he may be out of <br />
