STAFF MEETING NOTES <br /> • MARCH 7, 1989 <br /> The meeting began at 10:00 A.M. Ray Nelson and Lee Entner were <br /> absent. Don Hickerson, Sue VanderHeyden, Connie Kroeplin, Dave <br /> Childs, and Larry Hamer were present. <br /> Before the meeting began, the next meeting, which had previously <br /> been scheduled for March 21st, was rescheduled for March 22nd <br /> because Mr. Childs would not have been able to be at the former. <br /> Don Hickerson <br /> 1. Both police officers and reserves are exploring the <br /> possibility of developing a. drug awareness program <br /> (D.A.R.E. ) . The training for this program is in California <br /> so methods of funding would need to be found also. <br /> 2. Two of the three new officers have completed their training <br /> in the squads. The third officer will also be on his own <br /> soon. <br /> 3. The Department has purchased a new resuscitator and has <br /> given the old one to the Police Reserves. <br /> • 4. Two new A1coSensers (breathalizers) have also been purchased <br /> and are being tested by the State at this time. <br /> 5. Chief Hickerson"s wife's surgery was rescheduled to Tuesday, <br /> March 14th. <br /> Larry Hamer <br /> 1 . Mr. Hamer discussed the seriousness of the congestion <br /> problems due to the parking at the St. Anthony 76 (Bona's) . <br /> 2. Construction at the Salvation Army Camp has begun and Mr. <br /> Hamer expects work to begin on the new Coast to Coast store <br /> in the St. Anthony Shopping Center soon. <br /> 3 . The new snow plow is doing the job perfectly and its fuel <br /> consumption rate is excellent. <br /> 4 . The Hi-Ranger has been ordered and is expected- to be <br /> delivered around mid-June. <br /> 5. The Foss Road lift station change-over is scheduled for <br /> March 13th. <br /> 6. Retiree Jerry Sauer was recently badly burned but is <br /> • recuperating very well. <br />
