• Regular Council Meeting <br /> January 8, 1991 <br /> page 7 <br /> 1 The City Manager advised that the State' s fiscal year is from <br /> 2 July through June , unlike most municipalities. He felt the State <br /> o may hold back Homestead Credit funding and Minnesota State Aid <br /> 4 funding for roads. Funds for training of City personnel may also <br /> 5 be interrupted. It is the City Manager's goal to make reductions <br /> in the City budget which will not reduce nor affect services and he <br /> L is maintaining some flexibility in light of the State' s anticipated <br /> R $1 .5 billion dollar deficit anticipated in its 1992 budget . <br /> 10 9 Mayor Ranallo suggested organizations in the community with pull tab <br /> 11 operations could be approached for funding of equipment needed to <br /> 12 be purchased. <br /> 13 3 <br /> 1 The Mayor recently saw an article in the Northeaster newspaper <br /> 5 requesting volunteers for the Reserves . He felt retirees as well <br /> 15 as young adults should be encouraged to volunteer for some of the <br /> 17 services of the community. <br /> 18 <br /> 19 Councilmember Enrooth , recalling the expense involved with the clean <br /> 20 up and branch chipping done after a summer storm, stated that this <br /> 21 type of activity will cease. All of these activities were very costly <br /> 22 and there were no funds in the budget. <br /> 23 <br /> 24 8. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> 25 <br /> 26 There were no public hearings. <br /> 27 <br /> 98 9. NEW BUSINESS <br /> 29 <br /> 29 A. Set Date for Board of Review <br /> 31 The City Manager stated that the value of the average home in St. Anthony <br /> 31 had increased 4% as there is a good market for homes in the City. The <br /> 33 average in the County was 2%. Counci.lmember Enrooth noted that the value <br /> 33 of rental property appears to be decreasing. <br /> 35 Motion by Marks, second by Enrooth to establish April 9, 1991 , at <br /> 36 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers to be the date, time and. place <br /> 38 for the annual Board of Review. <br /> 39 Motion carried unanimously <br /> 41 <br /> 43 <br /> 43 B. Approval of Minnesota State Aid Engineer for 1991 <br /> 44 Motion by Marks, second by Wagner to appoint the firm of Maier Stewart <br /> 6S and Associates to serve as the Minnesota State Aid Engineer fo.r 1991 <br /> 46 for the City of St. Anthony. <br /> 47 <br /> 48 Motion carried unanimously <br /> 49 <br /> 50 <br />
