City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br /> May 9, 2000 <br /> • Page 8 <br /> 1 Recently a piece was completed on"City Hall, a place where government is close to home"bro- <br /> 2 chure which is designed for 5th and 6th graders to obtain information on city government. She <br /> 3 felt this brochure would be an excellent learning tool when Councilmembers speak to students <br /> 4 and the brochures could be available at City Hall as well. <br /> 5 Sparks reported that ACTION (Adults and Children Together in Our Neighborhood) would be <br /> 6 accepting grant requests from St. Anthony organizations and groups to sponsor intergenerational <br /> 7 events. Please call Amy at 788-7946 if interested. <br /> 8 Cavanaugh reported his appreciation for the Staff in organizing the Volunteer Dinner. The <br /> 9 dinner was a success and the feedback from residents was positive. He noted the many hours and <br /> 10 extra effort that City Staff put forward in organizing the dinner. <br /> 11 Additionally, Cavanaugh felt that the Clean-Up Day was a success and again wished to thank <br /> 12 City Staff for the excellent organization of the event. He encouraged the City to think of ways <br /> 13 that additional clean-up could be accomplished throughout the neighborhoods. <br /> 14 Cavanaugh stated that he had received calls about the water quality issue as it related to the rede- <br /> 5 velopment of Apache Plaza. Cavanaugh stated that he is working with City Manager Michael <br /> •1 <br /> i 6 Mornson and felt that the direction would be a final solution for the drainage issue with Apache. <br /> 17 Hodson commented that he had spoken to someone at the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency <br /> 18 who suggested that the Council consider a 15-20 year plan and this possibility could be a topic <br /> 19 for the May 15 Council worksession. He felt this issue deserved a long-term review as it would <br /> 20 be in the City's best interest. <br /> __21 . XII. INFORMATION.AND ANNOUNCEMENTS. <br /> 22 None. <br /> 23 XIII.
