connection to an existing 24-inch pipeline and a new 24-inch pipe line <br /> installed easterly from Edward Avenue approximately 120 feet to an <br /> existing swale between housing units on the north side of 33rd. The <br /> continuation of the 30-inch pipeline southerly on Edward Avenue and the <br /> 24-inch inlet will be completed at a later time. <br /> At the intersection of 33'd and Edward an additional four(4) catch basins <br /> will be installed to accommodate the surface water contributing to this <br /> intersection. <br /> 3.3 Sidewalk <br /> A 5-foot wide concrete sidewalk is proposed to be constructed along the <br /> entire length of the project on the north side of 33rd Avenue adjacent to <br /> the back of the curb. Pedestrian access ramps will be constructed at all <br /> intersections and where else needed. The majority of driveway aprons will <br /> be replaced in areas of sidewalk construction.A stamped colored concrete <br /> crosswalk will be installed on the west side of the Silver Lake Road <br /> intersection similar to that installed in 1998 on the east side of the <br /> intersection. Modular block retaining walls will be constructed to support <br /> the slopes behind the sidewalk where required. All boulevard areas <br /> disturbed by the contractor will be restored with sod. <br /> t3.4 Signal Reconstruction <br /> At the intersection of 33rd Avenue and Silver Lake Road, Hennepin <br /> County owns and operates a traffic signal system. <br /> In order to be able to complete the proposed pavement rehabilitation and <br /> sidewalk installation work along 33rd Avenue Northeast, some <br /> modifications to the existing signal system at the intersection will be <br /> required. Anticipated modifications to the signal system to accommodate <br /> the proposed road and sidewalk work include: <br /> 1 Relocating the inplace traffic signal pole on the northwest comer <br /> of the intersection, to a location north of the proposed sidewalk <br /> (onto a new foundation), to allow for new sidewalk placement. <br /> ' The inplace foundation would be removed.as part of this work. <br /> • Removing and salvaging the existing 20 foot mast arm, and <br /> 1 furnishing and installing a new 25 foot mast arm on the above <br /> mentioned signal pole to properly align the overhead traffic signal <br /> over the westbound 33rd Avenue through lane once the signal <br /> pole is reinstalled at its new location. <br /> ' 33n0 <br /> Avenue Improvements Silver Lake Road to Stinson Boulevard A-SANTIi9902.00 <br /> 1 St. Anthony, Minnesota Page 4 <br />
