<br /> There are a number of important factQm to consider when selecting the right McKay system for any
<br /> application. First is the character size required to provide quality visibility readership. R general rule
<br /> for estimating character height is 1 inch of character height for every 50 feet of viewing distance.
<br /> The distance that the sign is set back from the road must be taken into account as well as the dis-
<br /> tance the sign is mounted above the ground. Another factor is the message length that can be used
<br /> most effectively based on the character size (height) and the speed of the traffic going by. The fol-
<br /> lowing chart gives some standards to go by:
