MINUTES <br /> ST. ANTHONY CHEMICAL ABUSE INFORMATION COMTiITTEE <br /> December 14, 1981 <br /> Members. present: Jan Stroom, Ruth Hultgren, Jim Stephens, Evelyn Holthus, <br /> Paul Rebelein, ;,;ary Bowling, Pat Beaubien, Karen Thoresen Quinn and Jean <br /> Klosterman. Absent: Don Hickerson <br /> Meeting was convened by Jan Stroom at 7:05. <br /> 1. The first item was introduction of all members. <br /> Old Business <br /> 2. Minutes were approved. <br /> 3. Reports - Evelyn Holthus <br /> A. Chemical Use Awareness month, October 1981 <br /> A report has been presented to the. city council and school board. <br /> B. Treasurer's -report - Ruth Hultgren <br /> We have $375.79 in our treasury. Evelyn presented a bill of $20 <br /> for stamps for future mailings. <br /> C. Jan Stroom read a letter from Dr. Ness commending the committee's <br /> . work. <br /> New Business <br /> 1. Ruth Hultgren gave a history of the committee for our new members. <br /> 2. Election of officers <br /> President - Ruth Hultgren <br /> Secretary - Jean Klosterman <br /> Treasurer - Karen Thoresen Quinn <br /> 3. Evelyn read goals of last years committee(objectives and activities) <br /> and asked committee members for.possible measurable goals for 1982. <br /> Some ideas that were presented were: <br /> 3.1 Education of public about drinking and driving. Karen <br /> Thoresen Quinn recommended a film that is well done and <br /> presents a visual picture that exceeds the benefits of a <br /> pamphlet. She will check into title and availability. <br /> 3.2 Several committee members would like to see an assembly <br /> patterned after the middle school - PTSA program done in <br /> October offered to both middle school students and high <br /> school students. The committee would be willing to spon- <br /> sor such a program. E. Holthus will talk to principals <br /> and call about costs. A follow-up would be suggested by <br /> A/A groups in middle school, TAHC in high school. <br /> 3.3 We should publicize where the public can go for free help <br /> (assessment/evaluation) .
