CITY OF ST. ANTHONY <br /> • COUNCIL MINUTES <br /> December 8 , 1981 <br /> The meeting was called to order by Mayor Haik at 7 : 30 P.M. <br /> Present for roll call.:. Marks , Sundland, Haik, Ranallo, and Letourneau. <br /> Also present: Dave- Childs , City Manager; William Soth, City Attorney ; <br /> and Carol Johnson, Clerk/Treasurer. <br /> Councilman.Marks proposed the November 24th Council minutes be <br /> amended to include the following: <br /> Page 1, para. 13 : Add "He added that there are two sites in the <br /> City where- he believes better snow removal should <br /> be enforced; the bridge over the railroad tracks <br /> on Silver Lake Road and the sidewalks in front of <br /> the circular driveway in front of the high school" . <br /> Motion by Councilman Marks and seconded by Councilman Letourneau to <br /> approve as .amended the minutes for the Council meeting held November <br /> 24 , 1981. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> • Motion by Councilman Sundland and seconded by Councilman Letourneau <br /> to grant a temporary beer permit and waive the fees for the St. Charles <br /> Borromeo Church Mardi Gras to be held February 21 , 1982 . <br /> Motion carried unanimously . <br /> Before approving the verified claims , Councilman Marks questioned <br /> what the effect might be for.- the City to withhold payment of the Metro <br /> Waste Commission billing -as a protest of its size. The Manager said <br /> he would be glad to research the question but would not advise such <br /> action until all other avenues of communication with the Waste Com- <br /> mission had been pursued and it becomes apparent that withholding <br /> payment is the last recourse for the City . <br /> Motion by Councilman Marks and seconded by Councilman Ranallo to <br /> approve payment of all verified claims listed in the December 8 , <br /> 1981 agenda packet. <br /> Motion carried unanimously . <br /> Prior to the acceptance of the November Fire Department and. liquor <br /> operation reports , the Investment report was noted and Carol Johnson <br /> commended for the investment policy she followed the past year. <br /> • Certificates of Commendation for quick thinking and responsible action <br /> were .presented by Mayor -Haik to Karin 'Iverson , 2408 - 34th Avenue. N..E. <br />
